What a delightful place! It’s attached to a very small strip mall but it has nice decor & relaxing bluesy piano music. Loved the atmosphere. I am a woman eating alone & they took great care of me. The early bird special was just over but the waitress let me order it anyway — pot roast with mashed potatoes, gravy & fresh green beans. It was heavenly! So tender! And definitely home made gravy & mashed potatoes. Pure comfort food! To top it off, it was hand delivered by Bob, the chef & owner. And he was conversation & warm & I just plain felt like he really appreciated my coming to his restaurant. Fast service, too! This was the best meal and dining experience I’ve had in a very long time. Thank you 3 Olives! 😊
Found this place while shopping for discount gift certificates to use on vacation, and the reviews made it sound like a good choice. Overall we were impressed, although service was a little slower than we'd prefer for a weekend night where it wasn't too busy. Our server was friendly, our glasses never empty, and one of the owners came by our table to check on how the meal was. Only small complaint with the food was the seasonal vegetable. Some pieces were soft, others seemed like they weren't cooked at all. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the sauce delicious.
Three Olives is one of our local favorites for dinner in the Sand Key Island area. The restaurant offers a very classy but casual atmosphere that provides a great dining environment. When you walk into the restaurant you immediately see an inviting bar and dining area with nice lighting and comfortable seating. The night we went there was a piano player serenading the patrons with nice light background music. The menu had many selections including the Sunset Menu (4 - 6 pm) that offers a salad, ice tea, bread, entrée, and dessert all for $16. My favorite menu item is the French Onion soup which might be the best I've ever had on a consistent basis. We have dined here many times and have never been disappointed. Our favorite waiter is Mark who takes great care to ensure that your visit to Three Olives will be memorable and that you will visit often.
Great place for dinner and/or drinks. We have eaten in the restaurant and at the bar. The chef ensures everyone is happy...what a special touch. Rick at the bar knows everyone's name and takes great care of all the patrons. Had an extra special night on Thursday with Rick (not the bartender) playing the piano and singing.
My friend and I visited this restaurant for the first time, nice ambiance and our waiter was polite and knowledgeable. We chose a tablet on their patio. The chef/owner was very friendly talking to us at length about how he came to open this restaurant in Florida. I ordered the red snapper special and my friend the surf and turf. Her meal was very nice but mine was a little disappointing, the fish was was very small and the rice was tasteless. 2 of our friends showed up sat inside. When they left they came to our table to ask how we enjoyed the drinks they had sent out for us. It turned out that the drinks they ordered were given to a family who were also sitting on the patio. They told the waitress our names and the fact that there were only 2 of us at our table. The waitress thought it was quite funny that the wrong people were given the drinks. No attempt was made to refund their money or give us the drinks that should have been ours. We told our waiter what had happened, he offered to give us the drinks that should have been ours but by then we were ready to leave and had a fairly long drive home and didn't need any more drinks. Needless to say we were not very pleased with how the incident was handled and certainly would think twice about going back there.
First time customer and found this restaurant truly amazing. Seating was perfect for our visit, and the jazz accompaniment to the evening added a very NewYorkish feel for the evening. The decor inviting. The meals came nicely presented, and as the pictures show perfectly cooked. We start with Ahi Tuna Salad, exquisite, French Onion soup (needed just a little more Mozzarella) but one of the best, and i'll have to say my drink was perfectly prepared. We had the Atlantic Cod, and the Filet which were both perfectly prepared and as tasty as it looks. Finally, as if the evening weren't already perfect enough sitting at the Piano bar with Stacey Knights singing our request, well we stayed an extra 90 minutes. All in all Perfect evening. Thanks Robert Hilsky for being attentive to your customers.
This was my first visit to the Three Olives, but certainly won't be the last. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. For appetizer I had the calamari and for dinner I ate the chicken marsala both were delicious, I also tried the baby back ribs.
This is a place with real potential. Lovely staff, smiling all of the time. The chef / owner came out to check on our table. Another lovely person. They seemed to make some small mistakes that changed our experience. For example, they brought out the salad and appetizers as they were ready not all together. Then after a bit of a wait the Chef came out to see how we enjoyed our meal. Problem was we hadn't gotten it yet. Another delay and the food started to arrive. We could tell that several items had been sitting under a heat lamp. My wife loved her shrimp but the lamp had started to dry out my lobster. We were the last table to leave that night so maybe they were focused on closing. I will give them another chance but not so late in the evening.
